Federal Data Systems (FedData) has been selected by the Maryland Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) as winner of their 2016 Deal of the Year Award. FedData was chosen among five finalists for notable business transactions that positively impacted the Baltimore metro area.
The deal comprised the purchase of two Maryland-based intelligence and counterintelligence business units from Intelligent Decisions, a public-sector services contractor. This acquisition led to the consolidation of FedData’s Virginia and Maryland offices and relocation of company headquarters from Virginia to Maryland. The transaction was valued at nearly $100 million and infused significant employment opportunities to the Baltimore region.
“This award recognizes the extraordinary barriers we overcame to bring the deal to closure,” said Jamie Benoit, president for FedData. “We are excited by the enormous potential of the new FedData, especially our expanded insider threat and critical infrastructure support expertise for commercial and government organizations. Maryland’s status as epicenter of the intelligence community is the ideal location to leverage our world-class capabilities within intelligence, security and technology.”
FedData’s win was announced at the ACG Maryland Deal of the Year awards on March 22, 2017. The Deal of the Year recognizes business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, financings, strategic alliances and IPOs, that have bolstered the Baltimore region.
